Simple Monday

A wise person once told me that a cup of tea without a biscuit was a wasted opportunity, and I concur wholeheartedly.  Though I am also satisfied with a slice or piece of cake in place of the biscuit, I don’t discriminate in my choice of sweet treat.  I love sitting down with a cuppa because it makes me slow down and take stock a little bit each day.

Today I enjoyed my herbal tea and almond and orange biscotti in the garden with Miss Two after a morning of weeding, washing and swinging, oh plus saying hello to the worms.  We sat at the table and looked out over our hard work, positioning myself so that I couldn’t see the area yet to be tackled.

When we headed out this morning I could smell spring on its way.  It was warmer than it had been and windy.  And perhaps it is the feeling of spring coming that has given me a boost of motivation to work on my grand garden plans.  Whatever it is sitting down with my cup of tea and biscuit, thinking about all the things I wanted to do with the area I had been working in was exciting.  I feel like going straight down to the nursery and going mad, but I think I need to steady up a little.  With two little ones in tow there is only so much one person can achieve, so a slowly, slowly approach I think would be advisable.

So if you haven’t stopped for a cuppa yet today, why not go and do that now (or coffee if you’d prefer) just make sure you have a bikkie  to go with it.

Yeah – dunking all the way! I do it at work too and I think people snigger at me.

Oh, have you tried dunking chocolate croissants (pain au chocolat) in coffee? Such incredible frenchy goodness!
