Overcoming fears

We took the girls to Spring Fest on the shores of Lake Wendoree on a very wintry day on Sunday. It was wet, cold and windy, but still lots of fun.

I signed the girls up to the Ballarat Imagination Library which is a foundation started by Dolly Parton. I’ve always loved Dolly, my favourite movie as a kid was 9 to 5.

But the highlight was watching Miss Four voluntarily overcoming her fear of animals (or at least moving in that direction) by taking her first horse ride. I was very proud of her considering less than two years ago she was petrified of the guinea pig at the petting zoo. She loved it ……. And of course Miss Two couldn’t be left out.

    Awesome! Good on her 🙂

  2. Well done! My kids are the same with animals although we have progressed to the petting zoo as long as there are skirts behind which to hide. Slowly slowly.
If ever your girls would like to come and meet a goat, wave at some scared lambs and check out the chooks and ducks… 🙂

Hi Barbara, heard about this from our mutual friend – the little person is just so cute and looks very much like his father – now to replan that backyard of yours to fit in a pony!!! It is just wonderful when they take a few steps away from your skirts and really begin to head out into the big wide world, and they are so brave doing so. The pictures are just lovely, and I can definitely see mischief in the eyes of the two year old!!! What a lovely day you had.

Oh no Jenny, there will be NO pony. But it was delightful to watch them enjoying something that Miss Four would previously have shied right away from.

And yes, that little man is quite to cutie, can’t wait for another visit.
